“To do a good job, one must first have the right tools.” To ensure the long-term efficient and stable operation of waste paper balers and avoid sudden malfunctions affecting production, establishing and implementing a scientific and comprehensive daily maintenance system is crucial. So, what aspects should daily maintenance focus on?
Daily maintenance can be divided into daily, weekly, monthly, and semi-annual/yearly cycles. Before starting work each day, operators should perform a simple check: check if the hydraulic oil level in the tank is within the indicated range; observe all oil pipe joints for leaks; clean dust and debris from the machine surface and inside the hopper, especially around sensors and photoelectric switches; manually test the sensitivity and reliability of each limit switch; listen for any abnormal noises during no-load operation. Weekly maintenance can be more thorough: check and tighten all bolts in critical areas, such as cylinder seats and housing connections; clean or replace the air filter (for models with pneumatic components); add the specified grease to lubrication points on moving parts, such as guide rails and hinges.
Monthly or after a certain period of operation, more comprehensive maintenance is required: check the color and cleanliness of the hydraulic oil; if the oil is cloudy or emulsified, consider filtering or replacing it; clean or replace the suction and return oil filters of the hydraulic system; check the sealing performance of the hydraulic cylinders, and observe the piston rod for scoring or signs of oil carryover during operation; check for loose wiring terminals in the electrical control cabinet and remove dust. Every six months or year, a comprehensive major maintenance should be performed: this usually requires the participation of professional technicians and includes completely replacing all hydraulic oil and filters; calibrating the pressure gauges and the set pressures of all safety valves; testing the performance of motor insulation and major electrical components; and conducting a more comprehensive flaw detection or wear inspection of the equipment structure.
Establishing a detailed maintenance record sheet, recording the time, content, problems found, and results of each maintenance, is valuable data for preventative maintenance and fault location analysis. Consistent and meticulous maintenance is key to ensuring the lifespan of the Waste cardboard baler and the return on investment.
